The island group lies in the southern Pacific Ocean at the east end of the Polynesian islands and forms the only British territory in that region.

It is one of the most remote places in the world, 5,300 kilometers from the nearest mainland.

About three times a year a ship stops on its way from New Zealand to the Panama Canal to deliver goods ordered six months before.

We think that only a few drones have flown there.
